Middlesbrough Art Week will be joining Middlesbrough Mela for an afternoon of fun, free workshops!
Come along for FREE workshops for all ages and learn screen printing techniques.
Artists will be on hand to guide you through the making process to create a unique tote bag for yourself.

If you missed out on Hi! Street Fest Middlesbrough, then this is your opportunity to catch Middlesbrough new amazing puppet Tia. Tia will be partying with us all weekend at Middlesbrough Mela! Tia is a 10 year old girl who epitomises Middlesbrough, inspired by some of the first south -Asian ladies who settled in the town in the 1940’s and 1950’s. She is a ‘proppa boro lass’ and loves exploring the town and everything Middlesbrough has on offer. Catch Tia around the site all weekend – she loves a selfie too!
Grab your dancing shoes and join us for a weekend of taster dance workshops in our Creative Village. We have everything from Gem Arts delivery Bollywood Dancing sessions to our friends over at Tees Dance giving you a taster in Afro Beats and Hip Hop styles! We are so excited for this!!!

Head on over to the Creative Village on Saturday at 1pm for a sing- along with some over your favourite Disney inspired heroines. Join Isabella, Mirabel and more for a pop up party to kick off your Mela weekend.

Story Telling – Both days
If you feel the need to escape the hustle and bustle of the weekend, why not join us for a story or two at the story telling tent? From folklore to fairy tales and everything in between, our wonderful story tellers will be there to delight audiences both young and old alike.
